You Are Not The Cloud, You Are The Whole Sky!

We can reframe how we view our emotions by how we talk about them.

This is something I’m talking about all the time with not only my audience and clients but my kids as well:

We can reframe how we view our emotions by how we talk about them.

So often, our default is to say, “I’m sad,”

… and while it’s true you’re FEELING sad, this phrase makes YOU into the cloud.

Your sadness becomes more than a feeling. It becomes who you are.

You are not a cloud.

By reframing your emotions by saying instead, “I am FEELING sad,” you’re creating distance between yourself and your emotion.

Because guess what… you’re more than a cloud. You’re the whole damn sky! Emotions will come and go as clouds do, but how you feel is not WHO you are.

This is something I tie into my keynote speaking engagements and coaching. This reframe has a powerful Ripple Effect that transforms leadership, teams, and personal life.

I am curious, have you ever heard of this analogy before?
