After 10 minutes of watching (and secretly feeling like I should be picking up trash too), I walked over to her and handed her a You Have Good Ripple Effect card and told her thanks for doing great things in the world. She looked at me, almost in tears and said, "I do this because I live near here....it's a big world but I can at least do something small to help. This card makes me want to clean up trash more than just here."
Good Ripple Effect at the lake….
Last night, while watching my kids swim at Easter Lake, I couldn’t help but notice a woman who was quietly weaving in and out of people picnicking, lounging, and building in the sand. She was in her swimsuit, obviously not a worker, and was quietly picking up trash.
After collecting a few armfuls, she went back into the water and after that I lost track of her. A little while later she was back at it, cleaning up the beach, this time closer to where I sat.

I didn't catch her name, but she certainly left her mark on me (and hopefully my kids).
