After every speaking engagement, I hand out surveys to gather feedback and testimonials, no matter the size of the audience (from a thousand people to a small workshop).
Recently, a comment on one survey stopped me in my tracks:
"I want to be her friend. She was genuine and authentic."
This might be the biggest compliment I could ever receive.
Sure, comments like "she brought great stories and strategies" are always fantastic to hear – my goal is to equip you with actionable strategies!
But wanting to be friends? That takes things to a whole new level.
You can learn a lot from someone without necessarily wanting to be friends with them, right?!
This comment was a powerful reminder that I'm making a positive impact on the world. It means people are taking something away from my talks, feeling more inspired, and experiencing a little ripple effect…
It was so encouraging.
What was the best compliment you ever received that confirmed your ripple effect?
