I have a weird allergy. It’s an allergy that I have had since I was a little girl and one that people usually have never heard of.
I am allergic to the cold (Cold urticaria).
Which means when I go out in the cold weather I get hives on my skin. When I go into air conditioning from the summer heat I get hives. When I drink cold things, I feel my throat get scratchy because of hives.
It’s an odd thing really, because after five or ten minutes of “warming up” they go away…almost like they never happened.
I remember being a little girl wishing she could go play in the snow for hours or be on the swim team where I could bare the cold pool water. But over the years, I have figured out how to happen to it, not the other way around.
Have you ever felt like life is just happening to you, rather than you making it happen?
In this episode on the podcast, I share all about how to shift your thinking so that it happens to your life instead of it happening to you.
