I love this question! It has made me pause and rethink the whole process of gift-giving this holiday season:
Would I rather give the traditional sense of a gift... or gift an experience?
Heck, you can even blend them together! Give a flip book with ideas like “play a game with the family” - sort of like a collection of coupons on how I would love to spend time with you.
I tapped into more experiential gifts this year, and I have one coming up this Saturday!
You may not know this, but I LOVE basketball. My sister and I are taking our parents to the Iowa Hawkeye Women’s and Men’s basketball games this weekend as a gift.
I can’t wait to share this entire experience with them!
So, if you’re in a “what do I give this holiday season?!” slump, consider how to create joy in different ways. What are some fun and unique things you can do with your family? Where can you start new traditions or carve out space for shared experiences?
Experiences can make a darn good gift! (and I’m pretty excited to watch Caitlin Clark in action!)
Do you have any fun ideas for experiences as gifts? Share below, and let’s inspire each other!
