Though we didn’t see a single star, it was a great way to unplug (no cell service to be found) and the fresh air was good for the soul!
Where were the stars?!
While Iowa has been fairly lucky to not have been completely overtaken by the wildfire smoke from Canada, it was a little shocking to find out that the Smoky Mountains were not exempt from it either.
We planned to spend four nights in the mountains eating smores and gazing at the stars, while our kids played their hearts out at sports camp, however there was not a star in sight! The smoke had caused the sky to look foggy during our hike, water rafting, and sightseeing.
Though we didn’t see a single star, it was a great way to unplug (no cell service to be found) and the fresh air was good for the soul!
I admit I am a little more grateful for the clean air and stars, that I sometimes fail to notice!
